Federal EV charger rebates are a key component for electric vehicle adoption in the United States. The federal government has introduced a compelling initiative to support a shift to green energy by offering substantial rebates for electric vehicle charger installations.

Federal EV Charger Rebates

The federal tax credit, often referred to as the 30C tax credit, covers 30% of an EV charging station, necessary equipment, and installation costs. For residential installations, the IRS caps the tax credit at $1,000. The charger must be located in an approved “census tract” as defined by the IRS. You claim the credit on your Federal tax return by completing a form 8911. The Inflation Reduction Act extended this tax credit through 12/31/2032.
